Last update: Tomorrow will be "Good Morning Miami" "Good Day LA"

Today was busy, I met in the lobby @ 8:30 am. We went to publix to get some ice, I picked up a lunchable.

Breakfast was a lunchable and Pepsi. ;)

Since this is the last day we were giving away hats like crazy. Around 1:00 John asked me to find a Uhaul and Radio shack. (For zip-ties and ceran wrap pallet stuff) I took the rental car back to the hotel and asked the people there if they knew where a radio shack was; turns out it was two blocks from our hotel, so I walked. On the way back I grabbed mcdonalds #2, they asked what I wanted to drink, I said "Mr. Pibb" they looked at me like 0_0? Umm I quickly realized we're in Floriduh and I said COKE! :)

I drove to the uhaul over Biscayne Bay and to the north side of Miami, what a shithole, I felt like I was stuck in DT L.A.
but
Biscayne Bay is fucking BEAUTIFUL!

Then we packed up the pallet at 4pm, we waited and waited for our crate but it was a no-show. We knew it would be there sometime before 10 but we had a dinner apt @ 8pm so we left. We'll pack the rest tommorrow morn.

We met a guy Patrick from Hampton yachts in China, nice guy, and smart. We went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. It was excellent. I ordered the Petite Fillet: medium rare, garlic mashed potatos and a coke.

mmmmm We drove back to Miami and I took a ninja nap in the car. :")

Ok, tommorrow I say goodbye, so-long Miami, it has been good. Maybe i'll come back sometime soon when I get a real job. This time for pleasure, not work.

MIAMI has a ripoff station just like KDL in in LA. + Flugtag

It';s 93.1 Miami's "Party Station"

They play the same repetitive shit they do in LA.
Except they played the VengaBoys which i was grooving to in theental blazer! wooo woooooo!

All syndicated radio staations must die! Long live Satellite radio! (and CD's)

Alsol, I saw an ad for the Redbull Flugtag here. heheh we had that in LA already. It ruled!

Todays story and.. get drunk on the comapny dime!!! woo hoo.

The day was pretty routine, I got that package and drove back to the show, it started at Ten. The package was some software that has charts of north america, and oceans. Called Nobeltec.

I installed the Nobeltec software on one of the computers and took another one over to the NMMA Innovative awards room, where I set that unit up for demo.
The rest of the day i tried to sell people stuff, skipped lunch and bought a giant pretzel for $200 ($2). I saved myself for dinner.

:)

We took a writer from Power and motor yacht magazine out, we went to an upscale Chinese Fusion resturant called China Grill
China grill entree's and appitizers are made "Family style" to share, John and Ron had been there before so I let John order, but put in a word for the Garlic Shrimp. All food is served one after another, served after it is prepared.

We started off with an appetizer.. a fabulous Peking Duck Salad, Roasted with tangerine orange sauce. Our waitress asked if we would like any water, wine, or drinks from the bar. John ordered a "Singapore Slinger" All I know is it's a sweet drink made with Gin. I had one and he had one.

Our next entree was Cury chicken and Chow mein noodles, it was very good. The curry chicken was slightyly spicy, and that made me drink more of my Slinger. :)

Next was Drunken chicken, and tempura. This is BBQ chicken breast marinated in Saki and had the tempura on the side.. mmm yummy. Served with sweet kinda sauce, not terriaki.

Next was the Garlic shrimp with black fettuchini noodles and coconut sauce.

Last for what they call Accompaniments, we had Crispyu Spinach. It was good, and crispy and like SOAKed in butter.. :)

Actually...everything from there was REALLY good, after I was done with the Spinach I ordered another Singapore slinger. Our waitress totally RULED, I complimented her on that too. She put like ++ Gin in the second drink. woooooo I was fucvking floating in air. :)

We racked up a modest $200+ bill.

THANKS MICAD!

ok, I am going to take a shower and pass out from exhaustion.

Waiting for a package in the hotel lobby..

I am waiting for a package from our LA office, some crummy software.

I will receive the package from our concierge.

Concierge is a ridiculous word. I always say Conner-Seige because thats the first thing I thought of. Or you can say it with a British accent like Sean Connery.

Connerseige!.... Suck it TREBECK! :)

Other then that, it's hot and muggy out here > and overcast, of course.
I read on Google news and the complimentary New York times to my door that the Simi fires are even more out of control.

Yes, i'm in Miami, and my city is on fire.

:( At least my HOUSE isn't on fire.

I heard the fire just hit Chatsworth, I hope it burns my old work down: goddamn crooks.

Not much to say here, gonna take a shower and watch some tv. Also turn my alarm up REALLY GODDAMN LOUD, or else I might have to hitchhike home.

Sucharee, I sent you a postcard.

Around a quarter to ten John wants a diet coke, I go to the food court. SCORE! Slice of cheeze pizza. OK i'm good, I get back to the booth before showtime, do some final tweeks and everythings good.

Just after 11 oclock I take a tour around the show, cool, get some booth goodies. Cool! Come back to thje booth, ah rats! My feet hurt.

work:

just after 1 oclock I break for lunch, get a $5.50 hot dog and fries and a $3.25 drink: good thing i'm not paying.

xx- oclock thirty: work. Meet Mike from Orbcomm: our global MICAD.net satellite communications guy, cool dude from NJ with a Brooklyn accent.

around 5 Complementary odurves are served! We score big agian, cheeze crackers, bleu cheeze little hot balls filled with meat: looks like asian cusine. Also, free beer, wine and sodas! I hate beer, I grab two cokes.

6pm - close booth

7:30 pm go out to dinner with Ron, John and Mike. We went to "The Palms". Had lobster bisque, and great steak!

Here is the rippling waterthingy in front of our hotel.

After that I went around a few blocks and walked along the backside of Miami Beach. Here is a shot of the backlit hotels.

Ron and I went out to dinner. We went to the Tamara, it's our local hotel place. I got a Ceaser salad, Shrip and Scallops, and Potatos with green stuff in the middle and vinaigrette sauce. It was good minus the vinaigrette.

Tomorrow we have a dinner appointment.

Last night or I am an uncultured white boy. :)

Last night we ate at a Seafood place called Quinn's at the Park Plaza hotel. The atmosphere was great. We had the Famous *Bam Bam Shrimp appitizer and some kind of fish, I don't remember.

I also got little buzzed because The Boss bought me a shot, (in a hotel mbar that means "ALOT" in a glass with Ice) of some Italian Liquer that was really strong but really good.

On top the funny part; we were looking at the menu and I spotted Lobster and Crab cakes. I said, "The Bohemian Lobster sounds good"
It really read: Bahamian as in the "BAHAMA'S"..DUH, not Bohemia, as in Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen; from Waynes world.. We got a good laugh.

Anyway, today was alot of work, setting up the booth, show starts tommorow.

I'm off to dinner with Ron. cya.

Greetings from Miami\South Beach.

We arrived at Ft, Lauderdale as eariler then scheduled, around 3pm EST. John and I got the rental car, a chevy blazer; hey, whatever works. :)

Then we went to home depot to get a dolly and some gravel. (The gravel holds the base of the booth down, like sandbags)

I get up to my hotel room, it's pretty nice. I am typing from it right now in my hotel robe and slippers. :)

Ok, I look out the window and see this.

Los Angeles eat your heart out. But wait, theres more! Whats this??? It's hot, muggy and raining. I am told this this typical Florida weather, you can set your watch almost every day at 4pm for a quick thundershower.

John, Ron and I ate at a nice seafood resturaunt. Food was exellent.

Weather right now @ 11:25 pm is windy as hell and warm. Miami isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I'll take cool and calm Santa Monica weather anyday.

Ok, time to goto bed. We gotta setup tomorrow, and I think i'll hitup the beach tomorrow for some of that grade A sand ans surf everyone raves about.

Pictures will be continually updated on the photo page.

I can even do neat things like this.

Ok, time to goto bed. Nite nite.

Just watched the movie "Startup dot com"

It's about the two guys that founded govworks.com during the tech boom, they hit it big, and lost it all.

This movies makes you want success so bad you can taste it. The thought of working your ass off, accomplishing things you want to get done the WAY you want done gives me a fuzzy feeling.

Alas, those days are gone. While I may not be a Venture capitalist seeking huge profit gains riding the wave of bankruptcy, but I work at one of those Startup places now. Lemme tell you, it's either "My futures so bright I gotta wear shades" or "I'm on an eTicket ride to complete and utter failure".
The coin is up in the air here at MICAD, everyday is a disaster, there is no teamwork and no motivation. Almost everyday I wonder when this company is going to get run into the ground.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

same shit, all day, everyday.

Nite nite.

So i ordered a pizza from Papa Johns....

I opt'ed for carry-out because they had a special. $10.99 the coupon read.

I got to the counter and there is some dumb blonde highschooler sweeping the floor, she looks me straight in the eye and says, "Hi is this for pickup?" "Yes" I answered. She takes my name and then says "Someone will be right with you" and continues sweeping.

What the hell? Is she too fucking lazy to just give me my Pizza or walk back and tell someone I am here for my food?

So i'm waiting up there for like 4 minutes and the girl comes to ring me up, HOLY SHIT she looks like she was raised by a family of angry inbred Raccoons. You know, one minute they seem harmless enough....

.....and the next minute they want to rip your head off with their claws of death!

Well I swore this girl was going to assassinate me before I received my order. She had those dark circles around her eyes like she was up all night chain smoking and didn't get any sleep and had ugly purple painted fingernails! So I pay, sign my receipt and she rips the paper-copy out of my hand while clutching my prized pepperoni passion in the other. I retorted with the famed "Stupid Bitch!" Statement. This caught her off guard which bought me enough time to snatch the pizza from ugly raccoon girls finger and avoid her purple death grip.

I laughed as I exited the joint fearing next time I might not be so lucky. ..

Hi all, I have introduced two new things around here, first is a brand new photo gallery using Gallery. A WONDERFUL and fantastic photo archive program written in PHP.

The second is the totally new csoltis.com file repository! This is also PHP written, it's awesome, and it's called pafiledb. This is primarily where i'm gonna put all the car video shit that I host and\or capture. Videos from last july are already there. Isn't the user interface kickass>!?!? So without further ado. I present the most technologically advanced stuff on my website: :) ENJOY! I've learned a ton of cool new stuff and now it's put to good use.

We had a small outage on the site.

[geek] It seems the MYSQL database took a dump or blew the fuck up. I emailed the host and I guess they restored from backup or repaired it. [/geek]

[english] Shit's fixed! We now return to your regularly scheduled internet! :-)[/english]
